Hello Band Parents!

I hate to be the one to say it, but Summer is already starting to wind down. For the band kids it’s going even faster, because band camp starts Monday August 7. Band camp is an amazing opportunity for our incoming 5th graders to get acquainted with our new instruments AND get acquainted with their new building. For our returning 6th, 7th and 8th graders it is an excellent opportunity to show how much they practiced (or didn’t) during the summer and give us a chance to get rolling before they have 7 other classes to start keeping an assignment notebook for. If your student can not make band camp because you are out of town, please don’t worry; however, if your student can make band camp, they should.

Monday August 7th: Beginning Band

This day is for our incoming 5th graders and they shall henceforth be known as Beginning Band until they earn the rank of Band. Your student only needs to come during their sectionals timeslot. If they are renting an instrument from Q&F it should be at the school by then. If they already have their instrument, they need to bring it with them.

8:00-9:00 - Flutes/Oboes

9:00-10:00 - Clarinets

10:00-11:00 - Saxophones

12:00-1:00 - Trumpets

1:00-2:00 - Low Brass (Trombones & Baritones)

2:00-3:00 - Percussion

Tuesday August 8th

9:00-11:00 Full Beginning Band

12:00-2:00 6th-8th Grade Band Members

Thursday August 9th

9:00-11:00 Full Beginning Band

12:00-2:00 Concert Band (6th graders)

Friday August 10th

9:00-10:30 Full Beginning Band

10:30 Beginning Band presentation for parents/guardians (done by 11am)

12-2:00 Symphonic Band (7th-8th graders)
