Halloween and Fall Festival Party Guidelines
-
September 27, 2024
Dear Concord Elementary School Parents,
Halloween and our Fall Festival Parties are coming up at the end of October and we welcome our children participating in the fun. We also know that a big topic in many households this time of year revolves around what Halloween costumes will be worn. In order to assist in your planning, I have shared our school guidelines below.
Please review these guidelines for our Fall Festival parties taking place on the morning of October 31, 2024.
- Your child has the option of wearing a costume. This is STRICTLY VOLUNTARY. If your child chooses to wear a costume, it should be appropriate for the school setting and not suggestive of violence or inappropriate characters. Students should arrive at school wearing their costumes. School staff members will not be able to assist students with dressing. Please keep in mind that your child will be in costume for the entire morning (We have a ½ day of school on October 31.), so consider comfort levels as well as safety. The costume should not be cumbersome, revealing or restrictive to physical movement and washroom needs.
- NO accessories will be allowed. Wands, sticks, swords, etc. can be a source of potential injury and distractions. If your child brings any accessory to school, it will be confiscated and given back at the end of the day.
- For purposes of building security, hygiene, and identity, NO Halloween makeup or masks will be allowed. If make-up is applied, we will exercise the option of having the child wash the make-up off his/her face or body.
- Students will be attending an all school character assembly with the CARE sponsored parties immediately following.
Please understand that the restrictions support our pledge to maintain an orderly, safe, and secure learning environment. Please remind your child(ren) that we want everyone to have fun, but that it is a school day and behavioral expectations continue to be in effect.
As always, please accept my sincere thanks for your continued understanding, cooperation and support of our learning community.
Yours in learning,
Laura Anderson, Ed.D.
